Bridgend to Porthcawl

Redstart/Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure on behalf of Bridgend County Borough Council are seeking your views on a proposed new active travel link that would connect Bridgend with Porthcawl. The project’s main aim is to deliver a key active travel commuter and community corridor that connects the two towns. The goal is to encourage people who regularly make trips between Bridgend with Porthcawl to do so by walking and/or cycling, which are recognised to be the most sustainable and environmentally conscious methods of travel.

Larger projects such as this one are usually progressed over several years from concept to detailed design and are then dependent on the approval of funding from Welsh Government for the construction phase. The Bridgend to Porthcawl Active Travel Link project is currently at an early stage, where potential route options are being developed. We want to hear your opinion on the following four route options identified by the project’s design team.

Please note that all route options are indicative only and will be subject to change once more detailed design work is undertaken. All options will provide a shared use route used by pedestrians and cyclists (either designated for them to mix freely within the space or with the space allocated to each group by surface markings and signage), with a minimum width of 3m, meeting government design requirements.

Option No.

Please encourage members of your household and others to undertake the survey.
